The characters love to say that they're gonna save the world every two seconds. the world is built on nothing, you don't have a context, you don't know what's happened before the story started and you don't know what's the main plot.
the story is not narrated cronologically, and it doesn't have a conclusion. the episodes don't have anything to do with each other,Įach one of them focuses on a different character without introducing it, so you don't know who are they and what the hell is happening. logic? what is that? it doesn't exist in this anime. The episodes don't feel like episodes, they are more like recaps of something that happened somewhere else.
watching this show i often wondered what the hell were they thinking when they decided to make it, i mean, were they on drugs? did they have too much free time? who would be so self loathing to work hours and hours on something so bad? It seems like lately animation studios enjoy making pointless anime for no apparent reason. If you haven't, then I would pass on it because it wouldn't make sense, and there is no translation for the show either, just Japanese and Chinese subs. Either way, if you have played the game, then I would say watch this to see if you can spot your favorite character. I believe there is suppose to be another series, a more complete series, that covers this and the game much better. For those who have not played the game, this show makes little to no sense because important characters, and major side characters are just tossed out into the scene and it is just too confusing. Is partially there IF and only if you have played the game. The Story is simply not there, the art is ok, the sounds are ok the characters are unique in appearance and voice, the enjoyment To put it simple, there is really nothing to praise this anime about aside from being an adaption of a mobile game. This review is strictly based off the anime itself. The game itself, is actually enjoyable, but that is not what this review is about.
This series of short OVAs, is based off of a mobile game called Chain Chronicle.
(Crunchyroll, which is streaming both versions, has taken the unusual practice of subdividing the movie version into those 20-25 minute segments, presumably so viewers know which parts of the movie match up with which TV episodes.) So this review could be seen as covering the first movie in a trilogy or the first four episodes of a one-cour series. There is nothing much to say about this short, and seemingly, quickly-put-together anime.
A TV series version is also airing during the Winter 2017 season, but based on its first two episodes, the TV series is just going to be the movies chopped up into 20-minute segments with an opener, closer, and a small intro and recap added in to smooth out the runtime. They probably just split the movie into parts and showed it as TVs.Īnd finally, Theron Martin's review on AnimeNewsNetwork,Ĭhain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas is the first of a trilogy of movies being released once a month between December 2016 and February 2017. 2).Ī Reddit discussion seems to reach the same conclusion, The "Chapter List" table from Japanese Wikipedia shows the overlapping between each volume of the movie with the TV episodes: episode 1-4 (vol. The 12 episodes of the TV series retells the same story of the movie trilogy, each divided into 4 episodes.
